Passionate about working with children and teenagers, she has dedicated her career as a speech therapist to supporting those with special needs, particularly children with ADHD and other challenges. With five years of experience, she collaborates closely with occupational therapists and incorporates creativity into her sessions, using arts and crafts to encourage independence. Influenced by her Montessori education and fond childhood memories of free play with her brothers, she values imaginative exploration and fosters a supportive, patient environment. Beyond her profession, she leads a youth group at her Baptist church, enjoying activities like cooking, board games, and hide-and-seek while maintaining an open-minded approach to different beliefs. Steffen brings valuable experience in working with children of various ages and abilities, having completed a 10-month internship at a daycare center for children and teens with disabilities and a three-week placement at a speech therapy kindergarten. His roles included organizing sports and creative activities, assisting with daily routines, and offering individual support—experiences that deepened his empathy, patience, and adaptability. Since August 2024, Marie has been back in Germany working in a kindergarten with children aged 1 to 6.
