Brady is a Registered Behavior Technician from Washington, D.C., who focuses his support on children's growth by equipping them with essential life skills and guiding their behavior in meaningful, individualized ways. Through his experience in both school and home settings, he utilizes communication tools, behavioral strategies, and personalized approaches to foster independence and confidence in children while collaborating closely with their families to help them achieve their goals and create lasting, positive changes. Brady has found inspiration through his sister’s journey with a rare genetic condition in which he has found deeper understanding of the challenges faced by children with disabilities. He has experience with communication tools such as PECS and other assistive devices and utilizes evidence-based strategies such as positive reinforcement, task analysis, and prompting. Brady enjoys spending time with friends, reading, writing, and running. He is looking forward to the opportunity to support your family as soon as December 2024!

Available in December! Laura is a 21 year old Educator who is special needs care qualified and has experience with ADD, ADHD, and autism, and has over 2,000 hours of childcare experience! She has been supporting an Apex Host Family in NY with 3 boys; one with special needs. Laura has loved supporting these 3 boys and has learned a lot throughout her time with them! She describes herself as helpful, empathetic, adaptable, and someone who likes to find solutions. Laura enjoys animals, riding horses, playing soccer, doing crafts, and playing instruments. She has experience with hippotherapy, is a volunteer firefighter, and the youngest of 5 children! Laura has been driving for 2 years and has been driving her host children here in the U.S. She is looking forward to supporting your children beginning in December 2024! Note from Apex: Laura is due 8 days of vacation, 3 holidays, and $500 in education in her new placement. Her program year will be complete on August 27, 2025.

Daisha is a dedicated Childcare Specialist and Gymnastics Coach with qualifications in infant care and special needs care, backed by over 10,000 hours of childcare experience. Growing up with family members who have special needs, Daisha has gained firsthand insight into the daily lives of individuals with autism. Melanie is a 26-year-old Early Childhood Educator with a Bachelor's Degree and over 6,000 hours of childcare experience. Her background includes supporting children with autism, developmental delays, epilepsy, and sensory processing disorders. Melanie describes herself as empathetic, creative, and calm under pressure. In her free time, she enjoys horseback riding, reading, ballet, listening to podcasts, and traveling. With 7 years of driving experience, she is confident navigating various weather conditions, including rain and snow. Xavier is a dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) with four years of professional experience in the field and a solid academic foundation, holding a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. He is currently advancing his expertise by pursuing a Master's Degree in Social Work. Xavier brings valuable skills in behavioral management, emotional regulation, social skills development, and de-escalation techniques, which he is excited to apply in supporting your family's needs! Available Now! Rika is a 28 year old Occupational Therapist who is special needs care qualified and has experience working with autism, developmental delay, anxiety, ADHD, and Down syndrome. She first became a Medical Assistant and then moved on to Occupational Therapy as she wanted to be more involved with people and working towards an improved life for them. Rika completed a successful year with an Apex Host Family with one teen child with several diagnoses. She is currently working with an Apex Host Family in Colorado where she works with twelve year old twins, one with special needs. Rika enjoys a variety of activities from baking, playing sports, watching a series, going for walks or yoga sessions. She is open to all kinds of interests you may have, too! Rika has been driving for 10 years and is a confident driver. Rika is looking forward to joining your family beginning December 18th! Xhoana, a 25-year-old Educator, is qualified in both infant care and special needs support, bringing over 7,000 hours of childcare experience to her role. She prioritizes clear communication with parents and is passionate about deepening her understanding of children’s behavioral development. In her free time, Xhoana enjoys going to the gym, reading, and exploring new places. Known for her adaptability, friendliness, and relationship-centered approach, she has held her driver’s license since 2017 and is excited to join your family this January!

Christof (Chris) is a 24 year old Physical Therapist who is both infant care and special needs care qualified. He has experience with cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, SPD, ADD, autism, and anxiety. Along with school, Chris has also worked in a PT practice and served as the lead therapist for his hometown soccer team. He is told he is empathetic and a good listener and he absolutely enjoys soccer, spending time with friends, and reading on a daily basis. Chris has been driving for 6 years and is confident in all areas such as highways and cities as he drives daily. He has no issues with pets and has no food restrictions. Chris is looking forward to become a friend for life and a member of your family beginning in January 2025!

Lucie is a 21-year-old Occupational Therapist with qualifications in special needs care. She has experience working with individuals diagnosed with autism, blindness, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, developmental delay, epilepsy, and Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD). Lucie is highly family-oriented and describes herself as friendly and open-minded. Having lived independently for several months, she has developed strong personal and professional growth. In her free time, she enjoys swimming in various bodies of water, spending time with animals, and participating in activities like game nights and bowling with friends and family. Lucie has been driving safely and without incident for four years. She is excited to support your family starting in January 2025!

Amaya is a Speech Therapist who is special needs care qualified and has experience working with diagnoses such as ADHD, autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, developmental delay, and SPD. She is excited about working with children from age 4-12 during her year abroad. Amaya describes herself as inquisitive and motivated. Emely is an Educator who is both infant care and special needs care qualified. She completed her training in 2024, gaining valuable experience through numerous internships, including an inspiring stint in a French nursery. This international experience sparked her desire to spend a year abroad, combining her passion for child care with her love of travel. Emely is a creative spirit who enjoys painting, drawing, crafting, and sewing, which she loves to incorporate into her activities with children. She’s also active and enjoys hiking, running, and swimming, often accompanied by her dog. Emely's love for animals reflects her caring and nurturing personality. Anna-Lena is a 21-year-old Occupational Therapist with qualifications in special needs care. Since graduating in October, she has been working in an OT practice, primarily with children aged 4-11. Anna-Lena values structure but also enjoys adding variety to daily routines. With four years of driving experience, she feels confident navigating city roads and various weather conditions. Joshua is an Educator who is special needs care qualified and has over 1750 hours of childcare experience! He has worked with diagnoses such as ADD/ADHD and developmental delay.
