Behavioral Connections of Colorado supports children with Autism and other neurodivergencies and their families in the development of skills needed to achieve personal life-long goals with techniques grounded in Applied Behavioral Analysis that embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion, helping to create a world where every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Early Intervention Program
Behavioral Connections of Colorado is enrolling children with autism ages 18 months to 6 years into their Early Interventions Program. While their program is individualized to each child’s needs and family goals, they utilize Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) to:
- Cultivate Potential
- Empower Growth
- Shape Success
Types of Support They Provide
They provide two different models of ABA support: Focused Support and Comprehensive Support. The type of support and number of hours per week recommended will depend on a few factors:
- Goals for support
- Your child’s strengths and needs
- Family circumstances and preferences
- Your child’s response to ABA support
Focused Support
Focused Support targets a few functional skills at a time and typically requires between 10-25 hours of support per week. Some examples of functional skills include but are not limited to:
- Reducing dangerous or life-threatening problem behaviors while increasing healthy, supportive behaviors
- Behaviors for transitioning
- Social skills with family and peers
Comprehensive Support
Comprehensive Support targets multiple domains of behavior and usually requires between 30-40 hours of support per week. Some examples of behavior domains include but are not limited to:
- Communication
- Imaginative play
- Sharing with peers
- Toilet training
- Daily living skills
- Independent leisure activities
- Following instructions
