Precise Pediatrics is an innovative clinic that combines integrative and holistic approaches with modern medicine principles to treat the whole person – both mind and body. They believe in searching for root causes of illness and utilizing precision medicine to tailor interventions and treatments to the individual, down to the genomic level. They believe that relationships are at the heart of what we do and take pride in spending time with our patients and their families to work with them to achieve both desired and optimal outcomes.
Meet the Founder, Dr. Kortney West
Dr. West is a board certified pediatrician who has dedicated her career to improving the lives of children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and behavioral health disorders. She was raised in Louisiana and graduated from Louisiana State University with honors, then went on to attend LSU’s medical school in Shreveport, LA. Thereafter, she completed her pediatric residency in Dallas, TX at Children’s Medical Center.
After residency, Dr. West worked for a pediatric clinic in Gonzales, LA before opening a concierge pediatric medical practice serving the greater Baton Rouge area. When work relocated her husband from Louisiana to Berks County, PA, Dr. West joined Reading Pediatrics where she worked for over two years.
After seeing the sizable gaps in how we care for our youth and their mental health and development, Dr. West founded Precise Pediatrics (previously Clear Water Health), which focuses on integrative management of behavioral and mental health disorders utilizing precision medicine along with nutrition and lifestyle changes to not only treat symptoms but also determine and treat the root causes of illness.
Why Precise Pediatrics?
Due to the struggles to provide exceptional quality of care within the confines of the traditional medical system, Dr. West began this practice to achieve those goals – quality, unhurried delivery of care. The focus on mental health and behavioral disorders was a natural niche for Dr. West since she values spending time with her patients to understand the root cause of the issues at hand, as well as genuine interest in managing these types of conditions (both holistically and with modern medications as needed). Our goal is to help bring clarity to your situation, help define and manage expectations, while always emphasizing growth and working to become our best selves. This includes continuous learning in Dr. West’s part in order to bring Precise Pediatrics patients the most up to date and evidence based care.
The practice initially began as Clear Water Health, and subsequently rebranded to Precise Pediatrics in order to convey our commitment to treat patients individually, down to the genomic level, by utilizing advanced technologies that analyze the patients DNA and incorporating that information into treatment protocols.
