How Music Therapy is Used

The brain responds differently to music, which helps with rehabilitation. A board-certified music therapist works with people who have different needs to help them achieve rehabilitation in critical areas related to cognitive, motor, communication, social, and emotional needs through songwriting, musical improvisation, lyric discussion, and recreating well-known songs. Clients do NOT need to be musicians.

Creative Coping Music Therapy Group

It will support your child in gaining coping skills for anxiety and stress, while also developing meaningful relationships with their peers. The group will be tailored to participants’ needs, but topics may include decreasing stress and anxiety, expressing feelings/thoughts, and building confidence.
