AAC Adventures gathers young AAC users, non-speaking individuals, and their families for free and low-cost activities in our nation’s capital! Started by three speech-language pathologists, the group practices dynamic communication, self-advocacy, and friendship in community spaces, such as museums, parks, and more. Gender-Affirming Voice Groups
Kelsey Brown SLP PLLC seeks to increase the availability of low-cost and informed voice and communication services for trans and gender diverse clients in Kentucky, DC, Virginia, and Maryland through common-interest groups. Have you previously participated in individual voice therapy sessions or spent hours researching vocal techniques by yourself online? Are you interested in exploring or further cultivating a hobby you already enjoy? These virtual groups are perfect for “advanced beginners” looking for a safe and informed space to practice a more feminine voice and communication presentation. Discussion may include vocal health, resonance, intonation, pitch, and/or non-verbal communication, with each class tailored towards group interests and concerns. Groups are offered virtually, with lunch-time and evening scheduling.
60-minute virtual gender-affirming voice and communication practice groups (teens and young adults) – $25 paid per session or $130 for 6 sessions paid upfront
Crafting group: set time aside to crochet, embroider, knit, paint, etc. while practicing your feminine communication and voice skills and meeting other crafters
Gaming group: practice your feminine communication and voice skills while playing Switch or PC games, like Disney Dreamlight Valley, Overcooked, Animal Crossing, Zelda, or Sims
Trivia group: test your knowledge on a variety of topics while practicing feminine communication and voice skills
