Kelsey Brown, SLP | Empowering Individuals of All Ages to Achieve Their Communication Goals

Kelsey Brown, M.S., CCC-SLP is a speech-language pathologist (SLP) who prioritizes authentic communication and connection over compliance. She offers relationship- and play-based therapy services for all brains and bodies. She specializes in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), gestalt language processing (GLP), and neurodiversity-affirming practice, meaning her services might look a little different than you might expect. Real life doesn’t happen at the table with flash cards and Kelsey’s sessions don’t either! Building on the power of special interests, music, sensory strategies, books, and PLAY, Kelsey’s communication targets are functional, personalized, and fun!

Serving communities in Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, and Kentucky, Kelsey strives to build strong relationships with each of her clients and their families to set them up for success on their communication journey.

Individual Speech and Language Therapy Services

She offers in-person and virtual speech and language services specializing in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) use, emergent literacy, and gestalt language processing. For students within her service area in DC, Maryland, and Virginia, hybrid services are also available (I.e., 1 in-person session and 3 teletherapy sessions per month).

Sessions will be individualized based on your young person’s interests and goals. All service models require an adult caregiver present as an active participant in therapy for at least the last 10 minutes of every session. An important part of the family-centered model, adult caregivers are an integral part of building motivation and facilitating generalization and carryover of skills throughout the week.
